Hello & welcome to UMusicLift!
Before you dive in, let us tell you a bit about us. We’re Universal Music Group’s Digital Innovation team, part of the Global Digital Strategy division. We are passionate about and focused on driving ethical and responsible innovation in the music-tech ecosystem, through the development of the next generation of startups.
Since our inception in 2017, we’ve evaluated and mentored over 1600 startups and directly supported over 300 of them – so we have a good idea of what information proves helpful for startups trying to navigate the complex ecosystem that is the music industry.
We have been travelling the world, speaking at events, conferences and universities, sharing knowledge and advice, to inspire entrepreneurs and future partners. We want to make sure we reach any potential founder – whether you’re in a global metropolis with access to resources, or a remote town with limitations.
And so, we bring you UMusicLift, our new online hub, dedicated to supporting the next generation of diverse, music-related startups and entrepreneurs who aim to accelerate the next wave of digital transformation. Here you will find news, spotlights, learning resources and pathways to connect with the team.
In the Learning section of the website, you will find a series of informative videos to help you better understand the industry and its main components, with practical advice on how to navigate it and make your startup a success. And of course, we have highlighted how you can best work with us if partnering is one of your goals.
In the News & Features section we will bring you a whole host of up-to-date information, from partner accelerators and competitions that welcome applications – to spotlights and case studies showing you how we work with startups at UMG, and much more.
We hope you enjoy the set of resources we’re launching with. If you have ideas or suggestions of what else you’d like to see, or if you have questions we haven’t answered, or just want to get in touch with the team – please head over to the Talk to Us section of the page and drop us a line. You’ll also be able to sign-up to receive the occasional newsletter where we’ll round up recently published articles.
We hope to hear from you soon!
